On June 3, 2026, in Athens, Antidia Citores, General Manager of Green Marine Europe, will speak at a joint session dedicated to the future of shipbuilding, held during Posidonia. Her contribution will be part of Green Marine Europe’s work within the Horizon Europe project CirclesOfLife.
From June 1 to 5, 2026, Posidonia will bring together a significant share of the international maritime ecosystem in Athens. As a leading event for the maritime industry, the exhibition gathers shipowners, shipyards, equipment manufacturers, technology providers, institutional stakeholders and experts from around the world. Its previous edition welcomed more than 2,000 exhibitors and over 32,000 visitors, confirming Posidonia’s role as a major international platform to track sector developments, identify emerging solutions and foster industrial cooperation.
In this context, Green Marine Europe will take part in the joint session “Future of Shipbuilding”, held on June 3, 2026, from 4:45 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., alongside the Horizon Europe projects CirclesOfLife and EcoShipYard.
The session will focus on key challenges shaping the transformation of shipbuilding: vessel design, environmental performance in shipyards, circularity, digitalisation, new assessment methods, and the gradual integration of environmental criteria into industrial practices.
At 5:00 p.m., Antidia Citores, General Manager of Green Marine Europe, will speak on:
“The future of Vessels Engineering”
Her presentation will provide an opportunity to place Green Marine Europe’s contribution to CirclesOfLife in a broader perspective. CirclesOfLife is a European project aimed at developing tools to better integrate environmental considerations throughout the life cycle of vessels. Green Marine Europe helps bridge the project’s outcomes with the expectations of industry stakeholders and with voluntary environmental performance schemes already implemented across the maritime sector.
The session will also feature a presentation by Rosanne van Houwelingen — Maritime & Offshore NL / CirclesOfLife — on “The future of Green Shipyards Operations”, focusing on the operational evolution of shipyards and the levers available to strengthen their environmental performance.
For Green Marine Europe, taking part in Posidonia reflects a key area of work: supporting the maritime environmental transition not only through the operations of shipowners, ports and shipyards, but also across the wider value chain. Shipbuilding, repair, maintenance, vessel design and end-of-life management are all essential components of a more integrated approach to environmental performance.
By bringing together Green Marine Europe, CirclesOfLife, EcoShipYard, Maritime & Offshore NL and several members represented at the Dutch Pavilion, this session will help create a space for dialogue between European projects, industrial players and stakeholders committed to the evolution of sector practices.
