Connect, innovate, progress. Green Shipping Day, the event that drives maritime sustainability in Europe.
Join us on Wednesday, 23 September 2026, at Hôtel Aston La Scala in Nice. The day will conclude with a networking cocktail reception.
In 2026, Green Marine Europe’s annual event enters a new phase with a new name: Green Shipping Day, now a key European meeting point for the environmental transition of maritime transport.
This edition also introduces a new format: alongside the plenary conference, two workshops on ports and biodiversity, designed to enhance interaction and foster more operational discussions among participants.
The event will conclude with a walking dinner, offering a privileged moment for networking and informal exchanges.

Closing of the morning program, followed by the group photo and lunch break.
Two parallel workshops will open the afternoon session, focused on practical solutions and operational implementation.
WORKSHOP - Resilient Ports & Infrastructure: Preparing for Systemic Risk
A collaborative workshop dedicated to strengthening the resilience of port infrastructure in the face of climate, economic and territorial challenges. Discussions will explore adaptation strategies, infrastructure planning, biodiversity considerations and the evolving role of ports in resilient regional development.
WORKSHOP - Underwater Noise & Ship–Cetacean Collisions: From Knowledge to Collective Action
A workshop focused on marine biodiversity and the growing challenge of reducing the impacts of maritime transport on cetaceans. Building on the work of the Pelagos Consortium, participants will explore pathways from scientific knowledge to coordinated operational action.

A plenary session bringing together the main conclusions and recommendations emerging from both workshops, with a focus on future collaboration and implementation.
A dedicated session highlighting Green Marine Europe certification as a powerful driver of credibility, continuous improvement and trust. Representatives from the programme's three certified participant categories - shipowners, ports and shipyards - will share their experience before a keynote address by David Osborn, Director of the Marine Environment Division at the International Maritime Organization (IMO), who will place voluntary environmental initiatives in the broader context of international developments in maritime environmental governance.
