Green Marine Europe Takes Part in the France Showcase at the 2026 Oeiras Bluetech Ocean Forum

June 29, 2026

On 16 June 2026, Antidia Citores, General Manager of Green Marine Europe, took part in the France Showcase organised as part of the Oeiras Bluetech Ocean Forum in Portugal. The panel brought together representatives from the public sector, industry and academia to showcase the diversity of the French blue economy ecosystem and strengthen cooperation with Portugal.

Held on 15 and 16 June at the Portuguese Institute for Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA) in Oeiras, the Forum was organised by Fórum Oceano, the coordinator of Portugal's Blue Economy Cluster. The event focused on maritime innovation, access to finance, business internationalisation and the development of partnerships between European and international maritime ecosystems.

Strengthening cooperation between the French and Portuguese blue economy ecosystems

The France Showcase formed part of the broader "Blue Investment Partnerships with Portugal" program, which also featured the Italian and Moroccan ecosystems. Its objective was to highlight the expertise, innovative solutions and support mechanisms capable of fostering new economic and technological partnerships with Portugal.

The session was opened by Hélène Farnaud-Defromont, French Ambassador to Portugal, and brought together representatives from the Campus mondial de la mer, GO Capital, Legendre Construction, the Luso-French Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Pôle Mer Bretagne Atlantique, and Green Marine Europe. The French Directorate General for Maritime Affairs, Fisheries and Aquaculture (DGAMPA) was also represented by Alix Degenne, Maritime Economy Project Officer.

The event reflected the growing cooperation between the French Embassy in Portugal and Fórum Oceano, with the shared ambition of strengthening collaboration between French and Portuguese stakeholders across the blue economy.

Green Marine Europe brings a European perspective on maritime transition

Antidia Citores' participation ensured that voluntary environmental certification was represented among the approaches showcased by the French delegation. Through its environmental certification program, built on performance indicators, annual self-assessments, independent third-party verification and a process of continuous improvement, Green Marine Europe supports maritime companies in advancing their environmental performance beyond regulatory compliance.

Invited both for its strong links with the French maritime ecosystem and for its growing presence across Europe, Green Marine Europe brought a transnational perspective to the discussion, highlighting the connections between industrial competitiveness, environmental performance and sustainable economic development.

The event also reflected the program's growing ties with the Portuguese maritime industry. Lisnave, one of Europe's leading ship repair and maintenance shipyards based in Setúbal, is among the first shipyards certified under the Green Marine Europe program. Portuguese shipping companies Mystic Ocean and Mystic Cruises are also active participants in the certification program.

Green Marine Europe's participation in Oeiras further strengthens the program's visibility among public institutions, maritime clusters, businesses and blue economy investors. It also reinforces the program's ambition to build stronger connections across European maritime industries and to promote robust, measurable and operationally relevant environmental practices throughout the sector.
