Green Marine Europe presents a five-episode video series dedicated to the Pelagos Consortium, a multi-stakeholder alliance committed to strengthening the protection of cetaceans in the Mediterranean.
Through interviews with Consortium members, the series highlights:
The episodes feature contributions from representatives of the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation, BlueSeeds, the Tethys Research Institute - coordinator of the Consortium - as well as Green Marine Europe, which helps mobilise maritime transport stakeholders around sound environmental practices.
This diversity of actors is a key strength of the Pelagos Consortium. It provides the foundation for a collective approach based on knowledge sharing, stakeholder engagement and continuous improvement.
The Consortium’s action is structured around four strategic pillars: advocacy and regulation, communication, stakeholder mobilisation, and research and innovation.
The ambition is clear: to strengthen the Pelagos Sanctuary’s role as a reference area for cetacean protection and to make it a model for the entire Mediterranean.
Members of the Consortium:
ACCOBAMS Secretariat, BlueSeeds, Cerema, CNRS-Géoazur, Département des Alpes-Maritimes, Green Marine Europe, European Commission Joint Research Centre, MIRACETI, OceanCare, Port-Cros National Park, Portofino Marine Protected Area, Tethys Research Institute and WWF Italy.
