Green Marine Europe continues to expand its European community with the arrival of Canbaz Shipping Group as a new participant in its environmental certification program. Based in Istanbul and celebrating its 40th anniversary in 2026, the company operates an international fleet of six vessels. This new participation reflects the growing interest of maritime stakeholders in structured frameworks that help measure, manage and improve environmental performance.
Canbaz Shipping Group relies on a management model characterised by direct owner involvement and decades of operational experience. The company places particular emphasis on maintaining and developing technological solutions that strengthen its competitiveness while contributing to the decarbonisation of maritime transport.
In recent years, the company has implemented several initiatives aimed at improving the energy efficiency and environmental performance of its fleet. These actions include the installation of energy-saving devices, the application of advanced hull coating systems during drydock periods, and various onboard energy optimisation measures, such as replacing pumps with more energy-efficient equipment and upgrading lighting systems as part of its internal “We Care” program.
The company also adopts a data-driven approach by analysing vessel performance across different operating periods in order to identify the most suitable technologies for each ship. At the same time, Canbaz Shipping Group continues to invest in engineering solutions and technical collaborations designed to enhance operational efficiency, safety and environmental performance, while supporting transparency and sustainability reporting aligned with recognised frameworks.
By joining Green Marine Europe, Canbaz Shipping Group commits to a structured process of continuous improvement and environmental performance measurement through the program’s indicators. This participation also strengthens the representation of the Turkish maritime sector within the Green Marine Europe community, which now includes a shipyard, Desan Shipyard, a shipowner, Canbaz Shipping Group, and the professional association GISBIR.
