Green Marine Europe Steering Committee meets in Marseille, hosted by BOURBON

February 6, 2026

On 2 February 2026, BOURBON hosted the Green Marine Europe Steering Committee at its Marseille headquarters.

This working session brought together Steering Committee members — Armateurs de France, BOURBON, Brittany Ferries, CMA CGM, CORSICA linea, DGAMPA, GICAN, IFAW, LD Armateurs, Lisnave, and MSC Cruises — for a structured and substantive discussion focused on programme priorities, the evolution of indicators, and the next steps in the development of the certification, including David Bolduc, President and CEO of Green Marine International, who joined the meeting remotely from Québec..

The discussions were both in-depth and demanding, leading to meaningful contributions and thorough exchanges that clearly reflected the active and genuine engagement of members in the programme’s governance.

The richness of the debates once again confirmed the Steering Committee’s central role as a decision-shaping body, going well beyond a formal validation framework. It is a space where choices are debated, challenged and collectively built, in close connection with the operational realities of the maritime sector.

More than an institutional meeting, the Steering Committee embodies the foundations of Green Marine Europe’s approach:

  • collective governance,
  • shared responsibility
  • practical progress, grounded in the practices and constraints of industrial stakeholders.

By hosting this session, BOURBON reaffirmed its commitment to a collective, credible and action-oriented approach, in support of a pragmatic and demanding environmental transition for maritime transport.
