Green Marine Europe at Euromaritime 2026 : Operational pitches, strategic dialogue and showcasing maritime innovation

February 10, 2026

Green Marine Europe’s (GME) participation in Euromaritime 2026 fully confirmed the relevance of our positioning: bridging environmental ambitions, industrial realities and viable economic frameworks, at a time of profound transformation for the European maritime sector.

In line with the highlights announced ahead of the exhibition, Euromaritime provided Green Marine Europe with a space for strategic dialogue and structured exchanges with a wide range of stakeholders from across the European maritime ecosystem: shipowners, shipyards, financiers, equipment manufacturers, ports, public institutions and solution providers.

Two pitches to illustrate transitions already underway

Contributions from Green Marine Europe members were delivered in a short, focused format: "pitch"-style presentations designed to share concrete feedback from the field and to showcase transition pathways already being implemented.

Blue Pact – Decarbonisation (3 February)

As part of the Blue Pact day, dedicated to maritime decarbonisation in connection with the European Green Deal, Jonathan Pacelle, Deputy Chief Executive Officer – Site & QHSE at Chantier naval de Marseille (a GME-certified member), delivered a presentation entitled: “Shipyards and decarbonisation: operational levers and reference frameworks.”

Drawing on practical experience, the presentation highlighted:

  • the operational levers activated at an industrial site (energy, industrial processes, resource management, impact monitoring),
  • the existing regulatory and voluntary frameworks, including the Green Marine Europe certification,

Objective : demonstrate how climate objectives can be translated into measurable, monitored and credible actions within a highly constrained industrial environment.

Blue Capital – Financing (4 February)

During the Blue Capital day, dedicated to financing the maritime transition, Vincent Blaize, Director at FIMAR (a GME partner member), delivered a presentation entitled: “Aligning environmental requirements and economic realities: the role of a certification such as Green Marine Europe.”

This presentation highlighted:

  • the economic constraints and investment needs faced by shipowners,
  • the importance of prioritising actions in a context of technological uncertainty,
  • the role a voluntary certification can play in structuring approaches, measuring progress and strengthening the credibility of environmental commitments—particularly vis-à-vis financiers.
SECA Mediterranean: a strategic dialogue on adapting to IMO requirements

In addition to these presentations, Green Marine Europe also took part in a plenary roundtable dedicated to the SECA Mediterranean, organised by Euromaritime and moderated by Thibaud Teillard (Infomer): “SECA Mediterranean: how are maritime stakeholders adapting to IMO requirements?”

On this occasion, Antidia Citores, Managing Director, underlined that the Green Marine Europe framework goes beyond a compliance-based approach, positioning itself as a tool for anticipation and a laboratory for the acceptability of emerging standards.

She also highlighted the very strong performance levels achieved by Green Marine Europe participants on SOx, NOx and particulate matter indicators, illustrating the sector’s capacity to deliver tangible results when the transition is managed in a structured way.

Euromaritime Awards 2026: recognising innovation that is transforming the sector

The 2026 edition of Euromaritime was also marked by the launch of the Euromaritime Awards, a new initiative designed to recognise the most structuring innovations in the maritime sector.

Following 32 applications, 10 shortlisted projects and in-depth deliberations, five winners were selected for their excellence, impact and transformative potential:

  • Subsea Tech – Maritime Innovation
  • WATTALPS – Maritime Safety & Security
  • CLAUGER – Energy Transition
  • OceanWings – GICAN Special Prize
  • SEA.AI – Jury’s Special Mention

Pasquine Albertini, Director of Communication, was among the jury members for this first edition, alongside recognised experts from the maritime sector. This participation reflects Green Marine Europe’s ongoing commitment to supporting innovations assessed with rigour, independence and high standards.

A trade show revealing a collective dynamic taking shape

Beyond the formal sessions, Euromaritime 2026 was marked by numerous meetings and exchanges with a highly diverse range of players from across the European maritime industry.

These discussions confirm a strong expectation within the sector: the need for robust, credible and shared reference frameworks to collectively advance a transition that is both ambitious and realistic.

Green Marine Europe will continue this work of structuring and support, convinced that the maritime transition cannot be decreed, but must be built step by step, grounded in data, real-world experience and clearly defined trajectories.
