GMI welcomes RanMarine Technology, a new partner specializing in clean technology

May 11, 2026

Green Marine International is pleased to welcome RanMarine Technology to its growing network of partners dedicated to advancing sustainability in the maritime industry. Its emission‑free Autonomous Surface Vessels (ASVs) promote responsible practices by helping ports, marinas, water utilities, and similar organizations better manage their waterways.

With more than 130 autonomous surface vessels (ASVs) deployed across 37 countries, RanMarine provides scalable solutions for monitoring and managing aquatic environments. Operated via handheld remote, onboard control (MegaShark), or autonomously through any internet-connected device, these vessels support two primary functions: continuous data collection and targeted environmental remediation.

For monitoring, the ASVs can be equipped with up to 13 industry-grade sensors, generating real-time, GPS-tagged water quality data accessible through the RanMarine Connect portal. This enables detailed spatial analysis, early detection of issues, and informed decision-making through regular autonomous patrols. For remediation, WasteShark and MegaShark remove floating debris using onboard baskets or by pushing waste to shore, while CyanoShark treats harmful algal blooms without chemicals. The upcoming OilShark module, expected in 2026, will further expand capabilities to include rapid oil spill response.

By joining Green Marine International, RanMarine is reinforcing its commitment to sustainability by providing participants with tools that combine data collection and remediation into a single platform, supporting improvements across several Green Marine performance indicators, including aquatic ecosystems, waste management, spill prevention, and environmental leadership.
