EPSILON International LTD joins Green Marine Europe as a supporter

February 25, 2026

Founded in Boston in 1985 and established in Athens in 1990, EPSILON has grown into a recognised European player in geomatics, environment, energy, water management, civil protection, maritime and aviation. The company combines strong technical expertise with international project management experience and active participation in numerous EU-funded programmes.

Its engagement alongside Green Marine Europe reflects a coherent and already well-structured European dynamic. EPSILON plays an active role in the Horizon Europe project EcoShipYard, a research and innovation programme dedicated to promoting sustainable shipbuilding practices and advancing material circularity across European shipyards.

Distinct from CirclesOfLife - in which Green Marine Europe is involved and which develops, among other tools, the Shipyard Environmental Performance Index (SEPI) and the Ship Lifecycle Passport (SLP) - EcoShipYard operates within a complementary framework.

Although led by separate consortia, these initiatives create concrete bridges for collaboration, fostering the exchange of experience, methodological alignment and cross-valorisation of results in support of the European shipbuilding sector’s transition.

In September 2025, Green Marine Europe, CirclesOfLife and EcoShipYard co-organised the Green Shipping Industry Day in Brussels, bringing together industry leaders, policymakers and solution providers to advance dialogue on maritime environmental transition.

EPSILON’s support reflects a strategic convergence: structuring the transition through credible frameworks, measurable indicators and strengthened cooperation between industrial, technical and institutional stakeholders.

“Joining Green Marine Europe as a supporter is a natural continuation of our commitment to a maritime transition grounded in scientific rigour, technological innovation and European cooperation. We firmly believe that the sector’s transformation must rely on structured frameworks, robust indicators and collective stakeholder engagement throughout the vessel lifecycle.” - Marc Bonazountas, CEO, EPSILON International LTD

With EPSILON, Green Marine Europe further strengthens its ecosystem of technical partners committed to decarbonisation, environmental performance and circularity at European scale.
