In 2023, certification dedicated to shipyards

In June 2022, on the occasion of the Euromaritime International Maritime Industry Exhibition in Marseille, Green Marine Europe launched a working group. Its goal is is to clarify what falls within the definition of a shipyard and refine the criteria of this future certification as well as these different levels.

Alongside Surfrider Foundation Europe, the French Maritime Industry Group (GICAN) plays a key role in this dynamic, which should be completed in 2023.

Since then, three new working meetings have been scheduled with nearly fifteen emblematic players in this sector - Monaco Marine, EDR Antwerp Shipyard, Netherlands Maritime Technology, Naval Group, Damen, ECO, Lisnave Estaleiros Navais S.A., Shipbreaking Platform , Center of Maritime Technologies gGmbH, CMN - Constructions Mécaniques de Normandie, Chantier Naval de Marseille.

Green Marine Europe naturally places this initiative in the footsteps of the certification dedicated to maritime transport, born in 2020.
