Antifouling cleantech company Shipsonic joins GMI's partners

June 25, 2026

Green Marine International is pleased to welcome Shipsonic, a brand of Delta-sistems B.V., to its growing network of partners dedicated to advancing sustainability in the maritime industry. The Dutch cleantech company specializes in ultrasonic antifouling technology that helps the maritime and offshore sectors move away from traditional marine growth prevention methods toward cleaner, more sustainable solutions.

Shipsonic designs and manufactures heavy-duty ultrasonic systems that use vibration-based technology to prevent biofouling before it develops. Built for demanding marine environments, the systems are engineered for long-term performance, with fail-safe thermal electronics and patented welded mounting rings that provide secure installation, full surface contact, and a service life exceeding 10 years.

Supported by research partnerships with institutions such as the Royal Netherlands Institute for Sea Research (NIOZ) and Wageningen University & Research (WUR), Shipsonic’s technology has been independently evaluated for its ability to disrupt the early stages of biofilm development. This scientific foundation helps demonstrate its potential as an effective alternative for managing marine growth.

By joining Green Marine International, Shipsonic is reinforcing its commitment to sustainability, providing participants with solutions to address biofouling challenges through biocide-free technology that supports improved environmental performance and long-term operational benefits.
